(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.) – Three North Decatur academic teams competed at the Indiana Academic Super Bowl and one Charger squad brought home a state trophy!
The Social Studies team is composed of students Jessa Wagner, Vanessa Apostolakos, Lilly Gardner, Kay Aug, Alexandria Apostolakos, Josie Hartman, Melanie Harp, Madison Martin, and Chloe Kramer.
They are coached by Ernie Ruble and earned the top spot in the social studies tournament.
Two other Charger teams found success as the Math squad earned State Finalist Recognition and the Interdisciplinary Team finished fourth overall.
“As a final recognition, the State recognized North Decatur as a Top 10 Academic program overall, an incredible honor that was a result of all academic team scores at the Regional Qualifier at Batesville,” Ruble said.
The North Decatur social studies team has qualified for the IASP Academic Super Bowl State Championships for the past six years. This marked their first state title.
