NWS confirms tornado in Franklin Co.

(ST. PETERS, Ind.) – The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado did touchdown in Franklin County on Saturday night. 

NWS officials said they were able to determine the tornado based on video and radar evidence. 

They have not provided an EF level or exact path of the tornado. 

Officials will now conduct additional surveys around the Highland Center and St. Peters area to determine the scope and strength of the tornado.

The tornado occurred during the severe storms on Saturday night. A final assessment is expected to be complete in the coming days.
