OA students had strong performances during AP tests

(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Oldenburg Academy is spotlighting some of their AP students for their classroom success this past spring.

The school said that students enrolled in AP courses took 179 exams across 12 different subjects.

Students who had teacher Helen Yane all had a passing score on their exams for AP U.S. History, AP English Language and Composition, and AP English Literature and Composition.

Moreover, in each of these subjects, OA scores were significantly higher than global and Indiana averages,” said communications specialist Elizabeth Schulte Denton.

There were also a 100 percent of students in AP Drawing earned a passing score.

Scores in AP Biology as well as AP 2-D Art and Design surpassed both state and national averages.

“Both the level of participation and the results achieved speak to the culture of excellence and dedication that defines an Oldenburg Academy education. We are especially proud of Helen and the remarkable success of her students,” said OA President Annette Hunger.

Principal Jill Hollins echoed the sentiment, acknowledging that OA’s AP achievements represent far more than success in individual classrooms.

"Students enroll in these courses because of the skills that have been developed before they enter an AP classroom, and those skills are the result of the outstanding instruction they receive from our dedicated freshman- and sophomore-level faculty and from the countless educators in our area's elementary and middle schools,” Hollins said.

Oldenburg Academy congratulated every student who completed an AP course this year and commended its faculty for their commitment to preparing students for success in college-level study.
