Oldenburg alum named school's new principal

(OLDENBURG, Ind.)  – An Oldenburg Academy graduate has been named the school’s new principal. 

Jill Hollins has been hired for the role after a search committee process. She succeeds Angie Parmer who served as principal since 2021.

Holins has more than two decades of teaching experience at Catholic schools and most recently served as OA’s Director of Institutional Advancement for the past year. 

The 1998 Oldenburg graduate holds two master’s degrees in education and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education. 

"Jill has experienced Oldenburg Academy from nearly every perspective, and that, combined with her 20 years in Catholic education, makes her exceptionally well prepared to lead Oldenburg Academy into its next chapter," said OA president Annette Hunger.

Hollins resides in Batesville with her husband, Chris, and their children, Jack and Ava. Ava is a member of Oldenburg Academy's Class of 2027. 

"Oldenburg Academy has shaped my life as a student, parent, educator, and staff member, making it an incredible honor to serve as its next principal," said Hollins. "As we prepare to celebrate our 175th anniversary, I look forward to partnering with our students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters to build upon our strong Catholic and Franciscan tradition. 

She added, “Together, we will continue to foster academic excellence, deepen our faith, and prepare young men and women to lead lives of purpose, service, and compassion." 

Oldenburg Academy is a co-ed college preparatory high school that was founded in 1852 by the Sisters of St. Francis .
