One arrested after high-speed pursuit that began in Osgood

(OSGOOD, Ind.) — A Butlerville man was arrested after a high-speed police pursuit that began in Osgood Wednesday night.
A Ripley County deputy responded to North Buckeye Street for a report of a suspicious person and said he located a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.
The deputy said the vehicle was driving 70 in a 45 mile-per-hour zone.
He attempted a traffic stop when the vehicle allegedly sped up to 85 miles-per-hour.
The pursuit went through the backroads of western Ripley County before entering Jennings County.
Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and fled on foot before hiding in a creek.
29-year-old David Hankins was eventually arrested on charges that include:
Warrant of: Residential Entry, Level 6 Felony
Warrant of: Impersonation of a Public Servant, Level 6 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, Level 6 Felony
Invasion of Privacy, Class A Misdemeanor
Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving, Class C Misdemeanor
Operating While Intoxicated, Class C Misdemeanor
