One arrested after multi-county pursuit overnight

Began at a police training area

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Madison man was arrested after a multi-county police pursuit early Thursday morning. 


Around 2 a.m., Decatur County Deputy Joshua Gaither was at a training site located at County Road 250 W and West Base Road.  


Deputy Gaither said he saw a vehicle enter the barricaded training area.  


He attempted to stop the pickup truck but it allegedly failed to pull over.


A 30-minute police pursuit took ensued before ending in Franklin County when the suspect’s vehicle went off the road, police said. 


36-year-old Christopher Hoskins was arrested on charges including Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana, several traffic violations, and felony warrants from Jackson County.


“There were no injuries in this pursuit, however there was a large amount of property damage to fields due to the suspect’s driving behaviors,” police said. 


Agencies assisting include Decatur County Communications Center, Greensburg Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Rush County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Letts EMS (Franklin County Division), and Sweets Wrecker.
