(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A Ripley County man will spend the next few years in prison after being convicted on meth charges.
42-year-old Thomas McConnell II, of Osgood, was pulled over on I-74 in February 2023 and the Indiana State Police said they found methamphetamine hidden in his car. He was charged with possession of meth.
McConnell was on both parole and probation at the time of the arrest. He also had a prior conviction of Dealing in Methamphetamine in Franklin County, prosecutors said.
A jury found him guilty and McConnell later entered a guilty plea to an enhancing circumstance due to his criminal history.
McConnell has been sentenced to 6 years in prison, with no time suspended to probation.
Ripley County Prosecutor Ric Hertel applauded the investigative work of the Indiana State Police on the case.
