(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – More than $65,000 was raised to support hospice patients in Jennings County this past weekend.
The annual Our Hospice Jennings County Gala brought together more than 250 people for an evening of celebration and fundraising.
The gala included the crowning of the Jennings County Gala Queen and King.
Lillian Curry was named Gala Queen after raising $14,500 while Jake Birge was crowned Gala King, raising $3,700 in support of Our Hospice.
Emma Clapp was named Queen Runner-Up while Katherine Brunner and Hailey Whitehead were recognized as part of the court.
Together, the Jennings County students raised over $33,000.
Proceeds from the Jennings County Gala help offset the cost of care in the community, where over $83,000 in charity care was provided last year, including support for ongoing pediatric needs in Jennings County.
“For more than 40 years, Our Hospice has walked alongside patients and loved ones in Jennings County,” said Steph Cain, President of Our Hospice. “We are grateful to the donors, sponsors, and community members whose support through the Jennings County Gala helps sustain care close to home.”
