Power appears to be restored in most communities

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Electricity has been restored for nearly 4,000 Southeastern Indiana REMC customers.
There are still about 1,865 customers without power as of 4:35 p.m.
The initial outage occurred shortly after 4 p.m. and there were 5,360 customers impacted.
An outage map shows electricity has been mostly restored in the areas of Milan, Dillsboro and Versailles.
Customers in Versailles, Vevay, Cross Plains, East Enterprise and Madison may still be experiencing the outage.
Ripley County dispatchers said the cause of the outage is not known.
