Owner searching for truck stolen from Milroy shop

(MILROY, Ind.) – A Rush County man says his truck was stolen right off of his property

Daniel Smith said it was taken around 9:30 p.m. Sunday from his shop in the 7000 block of State Road 3 in Milroy.

Surveillance video shows a Chevrolet Trailblazer towing the missing Chevy Silverado away from the property.

“The truck is owned by my son and myself. We were going to fix the transmission and transfer case,” Smith said.

He reported it immediately to the Rush County Sheriff’s Department who is currently investigating.

The Silverado Duramax is blue with a long bed extended cab. Smith doesn't believe it was towed too far away due to the suspects using either a chain or rope.

"They took the license plate off of the vehicle they used to tow the truck away. The truck had a flat tire so they had to pump up the flat tire and they had to find a way to get the steering wheel and shifting loose on the column," Smith said.

If you have any information click here or call the Rush County Sheriffs Department at (765) 932-2931.

Smith added an additional surveillance video showing a suspicious white truck on the property a few days prior to the theft.  Here is that video:
