(GREENDALE, Ind.) – Local authorities are continuing to investigate a string of vehicle thefts that occurred Friday.
We first reported that multiple vehicles were stolen in the Greendale area early Friday morning.
It was later determined that similar incidents occurred in the West Harrison area and Southwest Ohio.
On Monday, Greendale Police Chief Shane Slack said investigators determined that the Greendale incidents occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Friday.
At least two vehicles that were stolen were recovered in the Greendale area on Friday.
“The last vehicle taken was not left behind in the city and was last detected on Flock cameras around Springfield Township, Ohio,” Slack said.
The thefts are actively being investigated by agencies within Ohio and Indiana, including Greendale Police Department.
“As always, residents are strongly encouraged to keep doors locked and valuables out of plain view. In addition, if anyone observes any suspicious activity, notify your local law enforcement agency right away,” Slack added.
