(SEYMOUR, Ind.) – Three people were killed after a wrong-way crash on I-65 near Seymour early Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near the southbound 48-mile marker in Jackson County.
Investigators believe 51-year-old Theosco Middlebrooks, of Louisville, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when he collided head-on with another vehicle.
The other vehicle was driven by 31-year-old Alyssa Osborn, of Scottsburg, who had her 1-year-old son in the vehicle.
Both Osborn and the child lost their lives in the crash.
Middlebrooks was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe alcohol consumption by Middlebrooks played a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
All southbound lanes of I-65 just south of Seymour were closed for approximately 4 hours as a result of the crash.
