Police ID man found dead in Fayette Co. in 1990; seeking next of kin

(CONNERSVILLE, Ind.) – Investigators are looking for two people in connection to a cold case investigation in Fayette County.
Human remains were found in a shallow grave near County Road 50 West in 1990 but investigators were initially unable to identify them.
Advancements in forensic science and DNA technology allowed investigators to recently identify the remains as Jay Robert Williamson Bell.
Bell was a white man that was born in 1945 and had ties to the Connersville area prior to his death in 1990.
Police are now hoping to locate his two biological sons:
Jason Allan Williamson, born in 1974
Jay Robert Williamson Jr., born in 1970
“Investigators have been unable to locate either son or identify family members who may have had contact with them since their father was last known to be alive,” ISP Sgt. Scott Keegan said.
Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Jason Allan Williamson or Jay Robert Williamson Jr., or who has information regarding the death of Jay Robert Williamson Bell, is encouraged to contact (765) 778-2121.
“The identification of Bell's remains marks a significant milestone in a case that remained unsolved for more than 36 years. Investigators hope community members who may remember Bell, his family, or his sons will come forward with information that can help bring additional answers to the case,” Sgt. Keegan added.
