(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – An Osgood teen has been arrested following an alleged attempt by inmates at the Decatur County Jail to bring drugs into the facility.
Brandon Gay and Robert Phillips are inmates at the jail and investigators say they initiated a plan to have a detention deputy bring in marijuana to the jail.
Investigators learned that 18-year-old David Shrout, of Osgood, was allegedly willing to meet the detention deputy to provide the items.
A meeting was setup and Shrout was arrested at the location. Police say evidence in his vehicle was consistent with what the inmates were hoping to bring in the jail.
Shrout was charged with Trafficking with an Inmate, Dealing Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.
Both Gay and Phillips were also charged with Trafficking with an Inmate.
The jailer immediately reported the contraband request to his supervisor which led to the investigation.
