(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) – Multiple police agencies are investigating vehicle thefts that occurred in the past 24 hours.
Greendale Police shared earlier today that three vehicles had been stolen from various locations in the community between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday.
Two of the three vehicles were located in the area while a third has not yet been found.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is also investigating several vehicle thefts from the West Harrison area.
A common theme between the West Harrison and Greendale thefts is that keys were left in all the vehicles, police said.
Police are urging the public to lock their vehicles and never leave keys inside. They also urge residents to lock your homes and outbuildings.
“Criminals often look for easy opportunities. Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle and home can go a long way toward preventing theft,” Franklin County investigators said.
