Police: Man beats victim with baseball bat in Country Squire Lakes

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A man allegedly bet another person with a baseball bat in Country Squire Lakes on Tuesday.
Jennings County deputies say the victim had to be flown to a hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
Police identified 38-year-old David Parrish, of North Vernon, as the suspect and he was arrested.
Parrish was jailed on preliminary charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
Police credited the homeowner who initially called in the incident and assisted law enforcement.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by North Vernon Police, Indiana Conservation Officers, Jennings County Central Dispatch, Rescue 20 and Scipio Geneva Township Fire and Rescue.
