(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) –A Jennings County man is accused of driving drunk and crashing with an infant in the car.
Investigators say 31-year-old Josephy McGrath, of Commiskey, crashed a vehicle into a tree on County Road 800 south near Graham Creek Elementary School.
Police say the car had full airbag deployment and heavy front end damage when they arrived.
McGrath and the 2-year-old did not appear to have any injuries, deputies said.
“As deputies began speaking with Joseph to gather details of the accident, Deputies detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Joseph refused to cooperate with the investigating Deputy and was detained,” the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department said.
Police say McGrath was given a blood draw and was later booked into the Jennings County Jail.
He has preliminarily been charged with OWI and Neglect of a Dependent.
