Update: Person of interest in custody after manhunt in Dillsboro

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office announced that a person of interest has been taken into custody. They did not provided any additional details.

ORIGINAL POST (9:50 A.M. THURSDAY):

(DILLSBORO, Ind.) – A manhunt is underway after at least one person was found dead in the Dillsboro area this morning. 

The sheriff’s office is searching for a man that is believed to be in the area of Hueseman Road and Laughery Creek. 

“The person of interest may be armed so we ask that residents in the area to lock their doors and report anything suspicious,” Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry said. 

Police added that Texas Gas Road near Hueseman Road will be shutdown for an extended period of time.

The identity of anyone involved has not been released. Police encourage anyone who sees something suspicious to call 9-1-1 or (812) 537-3431.

They added that you should not approach anyone you deem suspicious.

“The investigation is still ongoing and we are unable to provide anymore details at this time,” McHenry added.
