Power outages, trees down from storms

Manchester VFD briefly loses power as firefighters man station

(MANCHESTER,  Ind.) – Manchester Volunteer firefighters were at the station and ready to be dispatched when they lost power early Thursday morning.

However, they have a backup generator and are still able to respond to calls as storms roll through Southeast Indiana.

There have been multiple reports of power outages and trees down in our area.

As of 1:40 a.m., the biggest portion of outages is in Jennings County as more than 2,100 Duke Energy customers are in the dark.

For Southeast Indiana REMC customers, there are approximately 500 in Dearborn County, 330 in Switzerland County, 300 in Ripley County and 65 in Ohio County. There are also a handful of outages in Franklin County.

We have also received a few reports of trees down across the area.
