Six Prodigy teams go undefeated this season

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – Greendale-based Prodigy Athletics had a very successful weekend at the Myrtle Beach Nationals in South Carolina.

Each of their six teams earned first place finishes and brought home National Championship rings.

It now qualifies Prodigy Athletics to compete in the Junior Olympics in Texas this summer.

Prodigy’s competitive cheer and dance teams are Team Sparkle, Team Glamorous, Team Empower, Team Fierce, Team Bougie, and Team Savage.

Each team has dominated and earned an undefeated season this year.

Prodigy Athletics is led by coach Lauren Vassuer-Manzi who said the skills-based training program pushes athletes to perform at their highest level.

Practices are intense, with routines running back-to-back and conditioning that challenges both mental and physical limits.

“What sets our athletes apart isn’t just their talent, it's their drive, their discipline, and their refusal to give up, even when it’s tough,” said the head coach Lauren.

“They show up every day ready to give it their all. They don’t just want to win, they want to grow, push boundaries, and make their prodigy family proud. I’m constantly inspired by these athletes. Even when practice ends, they stay late to perfect their skills," she added.

A mother of one of the athletes credit the program for changing her daughter's life.

“The coaches have been phenomenal, patient, hardworking, and supportive to each individual athlete and parent. Coaches Lauren and Coach Neiko always want what’s in their best interest at heart! They moved all of our teams up a level this round and we still won the national competition! We are undefeated now, and ready to face even more challenges in the future,” said Kallyon’s mom, Montana Prakel.

Earlier this year, Prodigy’s Hip Hop teams earned first place finishes in all divisions during a competition in East Tennessee. It helped secure a bid to compete at a top-tier event in Florida.

Coach Lauren added that success is about more than just trophies at Prodigy Athletics.

“Our program is built on grit, heart, and unity. These athletes have earned every bit of recognition they’ve received. When we say #TrainLikeAProdigy, it’s more than a motto it’s a way of life,” she said.
