(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Prosecutors are hoping to put the man who killed his ex-girlfriend’s partner in prison for life.
33-year-old Brent Wellman allegedly shot and killed 39-year-old Dennis Adams in August.
Investigators believe Wellman hid in the backseat of Adam’s car before he left for work.
Following the shooting, a 5-hour manhunt ensued before Wellman was taken into custody.
Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens has filed a Notice of Intent to seek Life Imprisonment without Parole against Wellman.
“Wellman has been charged with Murder, Resisting Law Enforcement as well as
Felony Firearm Enhancement. He is being held without bond at the Dearborn county
Law Enforcement Center,” Deddens said.
An initial hearing on the enhancement will be held in the Dearborn Circuit Court.
