(CINCINNATI) – The public is invited to a celebration of life for Cincinnati radio icon Jim Scott on Saturday.
The Dearborn County resident was best known for hosting the morning show on 700WLW for 31 years.
He passed away after a battle with ALS on June 28, 2024.
The celebration of life will reflect on Jim’s remarkable personal and professional journey through music and storytelling. Some special guests will include radio hosts Mo Egger and Brian Combs along with Denny Janson from WCPO.
“Jim was beloved for his positive outlook, kindness and tireless voluntarism. He met the indignities of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, with grace and courage,” organizers said.
Locally, Jim Scott left a tremendous impact on Southeast Indiana and was often seen at local church festivals and other functions.
Lawrenceburg High School's student broadcasting center is also named after him. It was unveiled just weeks after Jim passed away last year.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. You can purchase tickets by clicking here.
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neurological Institute's ALS Clinic Endowment Fund.
