Pure Grain releases new album, band focused on the future

(BRIGHT, Ind.) – The locally-formed band Pure Grain is back with their first album in more than a decade.

The rock and country band attended the Grammy’s back in 2012 and found success until their lead singer, Chris Taber, unexpectedly passed away in 2020.

Ryan Moore, of Guilford, joined the band in 2023 and they've been in the process of recording a new album for the past few years. Moore now serves as the principal songwriter and singer for Pure Grain.

Other current members were part of the original band and include husband and wife percussion duo Brian DeBruler and Michelle D’Amico and bassist Artie Chaney.

Pure Grain’s history stretches back more than two decades in southeast Indiana, evolving from a local roots-rock act into a nationally recognized Americana/Southern Rock band with a loyal touring following supporting artists like Hank Williams Jr, Zac Brown, and JJ Grey.

The band is widely known for their “Truckin’ Song”, with millions of streams on Youtube and TikTok, which has been featured prominently on Sirius/XM Outlaw Country, and Americana radio stations across the country.

Pure Grain has just released the album “Run and Roam” through Sol Records in Bright.

The album continues the band’s mission to overcome the loss of their original singer and enter into a new creative chapter.

The album has 10 original tracks including the single “Grass Stains” which stayed in the Top 100 for over 13 weeks when it was debuted by American Songwriter last summer.

“Grass Stains isn’t just a touching and relatable single about childhood and growing up. It is also the first page of the band’s next chapter,” stated American Songwriter.

It also features the single “Can’t Trust Nobody These Days” that is played regularly on Sirius XM Outlaw Country Channel and hit #62 on the Americana Music Radio Chart last week.

The album can be found on all streaming platforms and is available from the band on Vinyl and CD. You can click here to listen on Spotify.

Pure Grain will be hitting the road this weekend with shows at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville followed by two shows in Illinois.

Locally, they will be performing at The Whiskey City Liberty Theater in Lawrenceburg for a special Holiday show on December 19.
