(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-District 9) is hoping to help protect children and lower crime in North Vernon.
She submitted a $110,000 request to fund an initiative by the North Vernon Police Department to expand investigations targeting narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, and online child exploitation.
Rep. Houchin also submitted a $614,000 request to provide technology upgrades for Washington County 9-1-1.
Both requests have advanced through the House Appropriations Committee. They still must pass the full House of Representatives, the United States Senate, and be signed into law
“Whether it’s combating drug trafficking and online exploitation or improving emergency communications and response, these investments support the safety and security of Southern Indiana families,” Rep. Houchin said.
