(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-District 9) has two bills that have passed out of subcommittees.
Rep. Houchin introduced the Affordable HOMES Act which would eliminate federal red tape that increases the cost of building houses.
She also introduced the CABLE Competition Act which is intended to accelerate broadband access in rural communities.
Both of those measures advanced out of House Energy and Commerce subcommittees and now move to the full Committee for consideration.
“I was proud to see two of my bills advance this week on issues that matter to families in Indiana. The Affordable HOMES Act and CABLE Competition Act both remove unnecessary bureaucracy to make it easier for everyday Americans to buy homes and have reliable internet access,” said Rep. Houchin.
She added, “I am committed to expanding economic opportunity to ensure our communities thrive. These bills are important steps to make life more affordable, and I will continue to push them forward.”
