(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A longtime fire chief will now lead Ripley County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA).
Todd Schutte was hired as fire chief for Batesville Fire & Rescue in 2000 and served in the role for nearly 25 years.
Schutte has also served as a volunteer for Ripley County EMA since 2006 and has been the part-time Emergency Preparedness Specialist/Deputy Director since 2020.
He officially began his tenure as Ripley County EMA Director on Thursday. You can follow the agency's Facebook page by clicking here.
Schutte will work closely with public safety agencies and other partners to mitigate, prepare, respond and recover from any sort of natural, technological or man-made disaster in the area.
