Rising Sun senior signs to play college softball

(RISING SUN, Ind. ) -- A Rising Sun senior has signed to play college softball.

Elaina Titkemeyer will continue her softball career at Indiana Wesleyan University where she will major in Physical Therapy. 

She was joined by family and friends during the ceremony.

Titkemeyer says the idea of playing softball has been a dream since she was young.

"I would like to thank my family for all the sacrifices they have made over the years and helping me grow as a person and a player! I would like to thank all of my coaches and thank you to all of my teammates over the years for encouraging me and pushing me to the best of my abilities," she said.

Titkemeyer has been a key part of the Shiners back-to-back sectional teams and the Final Four squad in 2024.
