Rising Sun third grader, Vietnam vet share unique friendship

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – An Ohio County Elementary student shares a unique bond with a Vietnam veteran. 

Duke Perfect is a third grader who has dreams of one day attending West Point Military Academy. 

He was recently given the opportunity to attend a veterans trip to Washington, D.C.

The annual trip is organized by Vietnam veteran PG Gentrup and it allows local veterans and their loved ones to visit the nation’s capitol for free.

Perfect was so impressed by the trip that he wanted to give a presentation to his classmates. 

He received a special visitor as PG Gentrup stopped by to watch the presentation.
