Rising Sun to hold parade, ballpark party for little league baseball

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – Rising Sun Main Street is turning the little league baseball season opener into a community event! 

Rising Sun Opening Day and Ballpark Party will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25.

There will be a parade along the riverfront with floats, decorated vehicles and baseball-themed displays. 

At 10 a.m., community members will gather at the pavilion to vote on the best parade floats. 

The judging contest will be followed by a picnic at the riverfront.

“Soak in the spring weather outside for a picnic at the riverfront or walk down Main Street to grab lunch and drinks at one of the restaurants,” said Ynez Taylor with Rising Sun Main Street. 

The community is then invited to the ballfields at 436 South Mulberry Street at 11:30 a.m. 

There will be baseball-themed games and even a gear swap, where kids can exchange their ball gear. 

“Shaved Ice and other vending options will be available,” Taylor added.
