(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – A school employee is accused of stealing more than $50,000 while on the job.
56-year-old Lilly Parker had been employed at Southside Elementary when the Columbus Police Department launched an investigation in December.
Investigators say an audit led the school to discovering Parker had been stealing funds from the school’s extracurricular account.
“The case was assigned to a detective that worked with the Indiana State Board of Accounts and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate further,” the department said.
She was charged Wednesday with Theft, Forgery, Counterfeiting and Official Misconduct.
