SEIRD offering scholarships, student art contest to promote recycling

Deadlines are quickly approaching

(MADISON, Ind.) – The Southeast Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) has some unique scholarships and an upcoming digital design contest.

There are two scholarships that both have an application deadline of April 4.

Scholarships:

The ‘Students Making an Environmental Difference Scholarship’ is for high school seniors who have been involved in a community recycling project. They must be nominated by a school staff member and you can get more information here.

SEIRD also has the ‘Environmental Contribution Award’ which is for high school seniors who have been involved with recycling or environmental activities, but are not planning on attending college after graduation.  Get more information by clicking this link.

Digital Design Contest:

Area students who have an interest in digital design can enter a contest for Earth Day.

Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to design a digital flyer or poster promoting recycling.

The deadline is April 18 and entries can be emailed to emily@seird.org.

There will be awards for first, second and third place and the flyers may be used by SEIRD in the future.
