(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Several St. Mary’s Catholic School students will have their artwork on display in Indianapolis.
The students participated in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s art contest ‘Symphony In Color.’
For this year’s contest, children in grades one through six listened to selected symphonic music, and then created their own visual interpretations of what they heard.
The St. Mary’s students were led by art teacher Carol Blankman and six of them were chosen for the state competition.
Each of the six submissions finished in the top 100 in the state and will now be on display in the Indiana State Museum through the month of April.
Three St. Mary’s students received a Gold Award and will be recognized at the Hilbert Theater.
Here are the winners:
Lane Harmeyer (1st Grade)
Hattie Scheckel (2nd Grade) Gold Ribbon
Cecilia Sheppard (3rd Grade) Gold Ribbon
Sofia Coyotl Cuautle (4th Grade)
Julia Schneider (5th Grade) Honorable Mention
