South Dearborn qualifies for ISSMA State Finals

(AURORA, Ind.) – The South Dearborn Marching Band has qualified for Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Finals.

The Marching Knights earned the trip after getting a gold medal at the State Preliminary Competition at Whiteland High School on Saturday.

“Not only did they get gold, but they also earned With Distinction awards in Music, Visual and General Effect,” the Band Director Dave Pallada.

This past weekend’s performance also took place the same day they performed at the Aurora Farmer’s Fair parade.

Other schools that also qualified include Batesville and East Central.

The state competition will take place at Franklin Central on Saturday, October 17.
