South Decatur assistant principal killed in crash

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The South Decatur community is grieving a major unexpected loss this weekend.
South Decatur Elementary Assistant Principal Jake Rader was killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday night.
It is a shock to the community as Rader was beloved by both staff members and students.
“He was the kind of person who never hesitated to jump in wherever he was needed,” said Principal Nicole Stone.
She added, “His impact cannot be measured by titles or responsibilities. It is found in the countless lives he touched, the relationships he built, the laughter he shared, and the love he poured into our students each and every day.”
Rader was known for cheering on fellow faculty members and supporting each child that walked through the school.
“He gave his whole heart to our school community,” Stone said.
This is a developing situation and we plan to update this story on ways the community can support his family. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
