South Ripley grad returning home for special musical program on Sunday

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – An accomplished opera singer will hold a special musical program in Versailles on Sunday.
Darrell Day is a 1975 graduate of South Ripley who has performed opera and musical theater across the United States and Europe.
He has served as a director of worship for 40 years in churches and 15 years in public schools, teaching choir and handbells.
Day has an extensive portfolio of musical compositions, including works for choirs and handbell groups, an opera, three musicals, two masses, an American song cycle, and two ballets.
He and his wife also own an ice cream business in Florida.
The musical program will take place from 2-4 p.m. at Tyson Methodist Church on Sunday, September 28.
