South Ripley's Moorhead named Indiana superintendent of the year

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – South Ripley Superintendent Rob Moorhead was named the Superintendent of the Year by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS).

Moorhead is being recognized for building a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and student achievement.

“His leadership has expanded academic opportunities, strengthened innovative partnerships, and built systems that support students both inside and outside the classroom,” IAPSS officials said. 

He was also recognized for establishing the Ripley County Alternative to Suspension Program and leading South Ripley to the 2023 Cognia District of Distinction. 

Moorhead described the statewide honor as evidence of the work that takes place everyday at South Ripley. 

“Our dedicated teachers, staff, administrators, students, Board of School Trustees, and supportive community partners have created a culture where students can thrive, and I am grateful to work alongside them,” Moorhead said. 

Moorhead will represent Indiana in the national Superintendent of the Year competition in February.
