Speed limit changes coming to S.R. 48 in Manchester

(MANCHESTER, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation will lower the speed limit in three locations in the Manchester area beginning as early as May 27.

The speed limit will be reduced to 40 miles-per-hour on State Road 48 between Schaefer Road and Platt Road in Manchester, and between State Road 148 and Scenic Drive near Lawrenceburg. 

The current speed limits are 45 and 55 miles-per-hour along that stretch. 

Also, the portion of State Road 48 between Platt Road and S.R. 148 will be reduced to 45 miles-per-hour. 

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
