(METAMORA, Ind.) – The Town of Metamora will be back open for business on Labor Day weekend.
The devastating flooding two weeks ago caused significant damage to several homes and shops in the canal town.
However, the town is resilient and building back. Many of those small businesses can use support now more than ever.
Alan Stenger is the president of the nonprofit ‘I Love Metamora’ and he announced that many businesses will be welcoming visitors through the Labor Day holiday.
“Many of our business owners have spent countless hours cleaning, repairing, rebuilding, and working to get their doors back open. One of the best ways you can help Metamora recover is simply to come visit, shop, eat, and spend the day with us,” Stenger said.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the shops and dine at their restaurants. Stenger added that the Whitewater Valley Railroad will have a surprise as well.
“Every purchase matters. Every meal matters. Every visitor helps. This Labor Day Weekend, come show Metamora that you stand with our community,” Stenger said.
