(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Preparations are underway for the annual church picnic at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Batesville.
A group of church members have been working hard the past few weeks to make more than 200 gallons of their special-recipe homemade ice cream.
Ice cream won't be the only thing on the menu as the festival also features roast beef, mock turtle soup, German potato salad and other sides;.
“There are desserts which taste even better with a dip or two of ice cream,” said organizer Cindy Feller.
Attendees can eat in the air-conditioned hall, under one of their tents or get carryout.
There’s many kids and teen games during the festival and the Eureka Band will also perform at 6 p.m., while the pie auction will take place at 7 p.m.
St. John’s UCC is located at 300 North Huntersville Road and the picnic takes place on Saturday, July 25.
