St. Leon site selected for Duke Energy's Site Readiness Program

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – Duke Energy has selected a property in St. Leon as one of three in Indiana for its 2026 Site Readiness Program.

The Site Readiness Program prepares high-potential business and industrial sites for high quality, community supported economic development investments and markets them nationwide to companies looking to expand or relocate their operations.

The I-74 Alig Site in St. Leon is strategically located along the interstate and the State Road 1 interchange. 

Officials say the site is positioned to attract commercial, light manufacturing and distribution investment. 

Comprehensive utility infrastructure, including electric, natural gas, water, sanitary sewer and broadband service, is available on or near the property as well. 

“For Dearborn County and the broader southeastern Indiana region, the I-74 St. Leon Alig Site offers the kind of visibility, access and infrastructure that companies look for when making expansion decisions,” said Mike Perleberg, executive director of One Dearborn Economic Development. 

Perleberg added, “Through Duke Energy’s Site Readiness Program, we are strengthening our ability to compete for new investment, support job creation and position this site for long-term economic growth.” 

The other two Indiana sites selected by Duke Energy are in Bartholomew and Monroe counties.
