(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A vigil will be held in memory of those who have taken their lives or passed away due to an overdose.

Lights of Hope will take place at Inspiration Park in downtown Batesville at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30.

“This is a relaxed, supportive space to honor loved ones, find comfort, and learn how our community is actively working to save lives,” organizers said.

Attendees are asked to bring a friend, family member or co-worker to take a moment and have a safe space to truly remember a loved one.

During the vigil, there will be on-site connections for loss support, family care, and crisis resources. It will also feature music, personal stories and a candlelight vigil.

Reach out to Jacque Mosley at Jmosley@onecommunityonefamily.org for more information.

The vigil is organized by One Community One Family and the Southeast Indiana Suicide and Overdose Prevention Coalition.

The event coincides with National Suicide Prevention Month in September.
