Sunman man killed in S.R. 46 crash on Friday

(SUNMAN, Ind.) – A Sunman man was killed and another person was seriously hurt in the two-car crash that happened near Sunman on Friday morning.
Two vehicles collided at the intersection of State Road 46 and St. Peters Road.
Indiana State Police say 87-year-old George Dever was driving on St. Peters when his vehicle entered S.R. 46.
His vehicle was struck by a pickup truck and Devers died as a result, ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said Monday.
The pickup truck was driven by an 18-year-old Batesville man and a passenger, 66-year-old James Sterwerf, of Milan, was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is not known.
Agencies that were responded included the Indiana State Police, Dearborn County, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, Sunman Fire and EMS, St. Leon Fire Department, Bright EMS, Dearborn County Coroner’s Office, and the Indiana Department of Transportation.
