Swiss Wine Festival takes place this weekend

(VEVAY, Ind.) – The Swiss Wine Festival kicks off Thursday and goes through the weekend.

The well-known festival celebrates the county’s culture and heritage. In 1796, John James Dufour immigrated from Switzerland and established the first successful winery in America in Vevay.

The festival began back in 1968 and continues to offer family-friendly entertainment while attracting people from across the region.

Some popular activities this weekend will be wine and spirits tasting, the 5K river run/walk, a cornhole tournament, grape stomp competition, a drone show on Saturday night, arts and crafts, free concerts, and plenty of activities for the kids.

A Patriotic Laser Light Show will be on Friday night and the Firefly Drone Show will take place on Saturday night.

During the festival, the Vevay Racing Performance Museum will be open from 5-9 p.m. Friday and Noon-9 p.m. on Saturday.

The Racing Performance Museum showcases an incredible collection of historic race cars and racing memorabilia. You can get more information here.
