(VEVAY, Ind.) – Switzerland County first responders and school officials are partnering together to prevent suicides.
The sheriff’s office, Switzerland County EMS and Switzerland County Schools have implemented a project called “Zero Suicide Kits."
Those who have the kits can distribute them at any time to a person that may be having suicidal thoughts.
“The kits are packed with resource information, coloring book, pencils, [and] the adults kits also include a journal, eraser stating it is ok to make mistakes and much more,” the sheriff’s office said.
Officials say the kits serve as a ‘speed bump’ for those who may be considering suicide.
“Suicide Impacts everyone and the more we work together and talk about it, the more we can prevent,” the department added.
