Town of Vevay asks residents to not plow alleyways

Due to manholes and meters

(VEVAY, Ind.) – The Town of Vevay is asking residents to refrain from snow plowing alleyways. 

“The majority of the town's alleyways have multiple manholes and meters located within them,” siad Town Council Member Jeremy Harsin. 

He added that another problem is that the snow cover insulates the ground beneath, leaving it soft.

“Plowing these could certainly lead to major problems and expenses if one happened to be "caught" by a piece of equipment. We will send our crews down the alleyways once the roads are complete, if possible,” he said.
