(WESTPORT, Ind.) – The Town of Westport is working to fix an issue at their water plant on Wednesday.
Many residents are seeing brown or discolored water and the Town says that was was caused by a pressure issue at the water plant.
“While this can make the water appear brown or rusty, it is not uncommon after a pressure fluctuation,” officials said.
The town added that they share the same frustration as the residents and are apologizing for the inconvenience.
“Our staff has been working since the issue was identified, and we appreciate your patience while the system returns to normal,” they added.
If your water is discolored:
Run the cold water from a faucet for 10–15 minutes, or until it clears.
Avoid washing white laundry until your water runs clear.
If the water does not clear after flushing, please contact the Town Hall/Water Department at 812-591-3500.
