Two Batesville students earn valedictorian honor

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Two Batesville seniors have earned the distinction of valedictorian. 

School officials initially named Tyler Hoff as the sole valedictorian but discovered a clerical error that impacted the GPA of another student. 

That error was corrected and now Grace Walter has also earned the valedictorian distinction. 

“Because Walter and Hoff will share the title of valedictorian, no salutatorian will be named,” the school added. 

Superintendent Katy Eastes said, "While we cannot change what happened during commencement, we can acknowledge our mistake, correct the record, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of both students.”
