Two Franklin Co. wrestlers earn spot at IHSAA state championship

(NEW CASTLE, Ind.) – Two Franklin County wrestlers are heading to the IHSAA State Championship! 

Senior Cole Freese came into Semi-State with a 26-2 record and punched his ticket in the 113lb weight class. 

Senior Colin Troyer came in with a record of 24-5 and advanced in the 132lb weight class.

The Semi-State is still ongoing at New Castle as there are a few more wrestlers who could punch their state championship tickets as well.

The matchups for the State Championship will be announced at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The 87th IHSAA Boys’ Wrestling State Finals will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis next weekend.
