(ANDERSON, Ind.) – Police in central Indiana have spent the day searching for two exotic animals.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a 300-pound lioness and a smaller cub weighing about 150 pounds on the loose.
This was reported around 10 a.m. in the 10000 block of South County Road 50 West.
“The reporting party stated the animals were traveling southwest before visual contact was lost,” the department stated.
While police have not been able to confirm the report, a 4-hour search was conducted using ground units, tracking physical evidence, and utilizing thermal-imaging drone technology.
“While law enforcement has concluded the active search, residents in the area are encouraged to remain attentive and report any unusual animal sightings to local authorities immediately,” the department stated.
