Two local wrestlers qualify for national tournament in North Dakota

Switzerland County wrestler, Greensburg resident qualify

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two local wrestlers have qualified for a prestigious national tournament this summer. 

Switzerland County’s Peyton Richards and Greensburg resident Justice Thornton, who attends Columbus North, competed at the Indiana State Wrestling Association State Finals this weekend. 

Thornton finished in second place in the 150-pound competition and Richards placed third in the 138-pound meet. 

Those performances have earned both of them a trip to the USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota this July. 

It is known as the largest wrestling tournament in the world as there will be representation from all 50 states.
